Back to our trip...

The {almost} month spent in Italy this summer was a bit different then in the past.  Even though last summer Rebecca and I were in Europe for a total of almost 7 weeks, this summer felt like we were there soooo much longer!  I'm still trying to process the reason why we felt like this summer was dragging on when last summer went so fast??

But getting back to my photo tour...

To say we had a lot of coffee while we were here is a gross understatement...  If you can stunt your growth by drinking coffee, well we accomplished that...And it's all this guy below's fault!  lol  In all seriousness, Augusto is such a dear friend and we look forward to having cappuccino from his place every morning, sometimes gelato in the afternoon too and "WHY NOT" an affogato at night! (I'll tell you about the "why not" guy some other time...)  Augusto and his brothers own this place that their parents started many, many years ago.  In fact, their father was the first person to bring GELATO to Bellagio!  It's the "hang out" for the town and we just adore Augusto and his brothers Emilio and Neno.

We like to explore Lake Como, so whenever we are here we walk...

someone's not watching where she's going... :P

We walked a lot, let me just repeat that... a LOT!  There is nothing like going on vacation to LOOSE weight, right?!  That's the GREAT thing about our trips to Italy...  You think you're going to gain weight because of all the amazing food you eat, but you actually get in SHAPE when you come here!  I never walk this much at home and our lifestyle at home is so sedentary compared to this place.  Here, you walk EVERYWHERE.  You need to go get groceries?  You walk to the market. You need coffee... you walk.  You need to meet a friend, you walk to their house.  You need to go to the pharmacy?  You got it... you walk!  Breakfast, lunch and dinner??  You walk.  We also walk just to walk!  Because it's beautiful here and it's actually enjoyable to walk here.  But this walking isn't on nicely paved, flat streets... This is up hill, down hill and everything in between with rocks and cobblestones giving you a nice "foot massage" in the process!  We figured out that on some days we clocked about 10,000 steps on an average day... and my highest day?  over 25,000 steps!

And let's just talk about the food...

Taking Bruschetta to a new level... SO good!

I hate that our favorite meal in the ENTIRE WORLD does not look as appetizing as it tastes!  You're going to have to trust me on this one though... THE BEST!

Notice there are no prices on this menu?  oh dear, we are in trouble!

This is what we fight over... Peach sorbet that is BEYOND anything you've had before!  It's like eating the sweetest, ripest fresh peach but better!

And who can forget the GELATO!  I'm not ashamed to admit there were times we were on our "walks" just to go from one gelato shop to the next... #dontjudge

And have to add this photo in... Is this not the cutest "pizza cart" you've ever seen?

Rebecca's snap chat while we were in Italy was probably 90% pictures of food... but I have to say the food here is SO good and fresh and beautiful you just can't help yourself from taking photos of it!

I'll be back soon to post more photos from Week 3 and the time we spent with some family friends that had seen our photos of Italy over the years and wanted to come experience it with us this year!

Have a GREAT day,

Laura
