It's FRIDAY!!  What plans do you have for this weekend?  I hope you've carved out some time to RELAX...

I've been running around all over So. Cal this week AND having family and friends over... So I am going to focus on enjoying some down time with fam.

But before the weekend is here, I wanted to do a "quick" post because this recurring theme of "Return to me" has been bouncing around in my head all week.  I had to dig deeper as to the WHY this was something so constant, so I looked up some bible verses about returning to the Lord and did this bible journaling page yesterday.

In Joel 2:12-14 it says:

12 “Yet even now,” declares the Lord,
    “return to me with all your heart,
with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning;
13     and rend your hearts and not your garments.”
Return to the Lord your God,
    for he is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love;
    and he relents over disaster.

There are many examples in the bible that show the Lord calling back His people after they have gone astray.  There are consequences that we see happen to the Israelites because of them abandoning the Lords clear path for them.  But we always see the Lord wanting them to seek Him, to come back and follow Him.  The verses above show that He IS:

~ GRACIOUS

~ MERCIFUL

~ SLOW TO ANGER

~ ABOUNDING IN STEADFAST LOVE

He wants us to know He is ALL these things!

When I was creating this bible journaling page I kept envisioning a big "U TURN" because I've been praying for that for someone lately.  So I cut out a big U and added an arrow shape to it.  I then added some hearts and attached them to the page.  Then it was simply just putting a light wash of pink watercolor over the U turn and heart "masks" and adding the embellishments.

This idea of returning to the Lord is not just a concept for those who have gone far from the Lord and the Lord is calling them back.  But also for the person who LOVES the Lord.  Who is hearing that "still, small voice" from the Lord telling them something...

Is the Lord speaking to you about something?  Maybe you keep seeing the same "theme" pop up on social media?  A bible verse that spoke to you and now you keep seeing it again and again.  I know for me sometimes when I am going through something I'll be surfing social media and P31Ministries or Our Daily Bread or some other bible study I follow will speak STRAIGHT to what I'm dealing with!  It's amazing to me!  Like God is even working in our current SOCIAL MEDIA days?  lol

YES HE IS.

He's always speaking to you through His word, through people He's placed in your life for a reason and through that still, small voice.  Listen to all of it.  Search the scriptures to find clarity in it.

Our pastor said something a few weeks ago that stuck with me:

"Let my obedience be like the echo of your voice."

That is so COOL to me!!  It's at if I hear His voice and then go towards it.  Follow it.  Return to it...

The Lord overwhelmingly LOVES YOU and wants you to know that!  He wants to pour new life into you and into the journey He has you on. So listen to Him and return to the path He wants you to be on.

Have a BLESSED weekend everyone!

Hugs to all,

Laura
