Hey everyone, sorry it's been so long since my last blog post!  Time has been flying by and I can't believe we are well into the school year and Fall is officially here! It's probably a busy time of year for you as well... For us the kids are back in school, we're getting things back to normal at home, I'm working on next years Creative Retreats, we've had lots of Birthdays in the family, my husbands work trip is at this time of year and I felt the need to re-organize just about every cupboard in the house.  What was I thinking??

Her's a re-cap of my crazy busy life over the last month...

Decorated the house for Fall waaayyyyy early this year, but what the heck.  I LOVE FALL!

Trying to take even just 15 minutes a day to work on something artsy...

Gave myself license to buy flowers each week (from Trader Joes)

Trying to make more time for "craft time" with my girls.  They love being creative and in our busy lives I don't always find time for this... but it IS important and I want them to see that being creative IS part of what the creative spirit the Lord has given all of us.  This is a headband Isabella made with some fabric, flowers and a feather.

I started a NEW Instagram account.  It's called Awelldocumentedlife and it was something I've wanted to do for a while to take about all the ways we can document our lives.  We are the history keepers of our family, and it's important to write things down, journal, print our photos and record our lives.  It matters.  So if you're on IG, you can follow along with me and let me know how YOU document your life too!

We celebrated all our family birthdays together at Ruth's Chris!  I've been trying to eat healthy but this was worth the splurge!  Have you had a steak there?  It's AMAZING!

Then I went on a "Bucket List" trip with this handsome guy!!  :)  He always rewards his top sales people with a trip each year and the "perk" of that is he gets to decide where they go!  lol  So this year we took everyone to Bora Bora!!!!  He was SO excited for this trip...

Look at that water?!  It was so crazy to be there and see that the water really IS that colorful!  There's NO filter on this... It was amazing to see!

That was our "home" for the week.  Incredible!  I just couldn't believe the view each morning as we woke up and looked out our bungalow and saw the ocean we were sleeping ABOVE!

One of my favorite things about this trip was the relaxing time I was able to have on our deck.  I was able to journal, ready my bible, do some bible journaling and watercolor.  I'd go back just to do that again... it was SUCH a great time I'm thinking I need to do a Creative Retreat here some day!  What do you think??

Oh how we loved this trip.  So blessed that we got to spend this time together and spend it with a great group of people who work hard each year!

We got home just in time for this girl to turn 17!  It is such a huge blessing to see this young lady grow up to be such a beautiful woman that loves the Lord.  I know He is going to use her to spread His love in this world and I'm so blessed to be her mom!

Victoria's cute convertible Mini Cooper is for sale!  If anyone wants this cute car, she's trying to sell it because she wants to get a bigger car for work.

Still praying for this guy... He's Victoria's boyfriend Dany, who is from Italy.  He's been trying to get a Visa to come back for over a year now and they are prayerfully waiting for this to happen.  We love this man of God dearly and would appreciate any prayers for him to get his Visa approved.  They are such a beautiful example of a relationship that puts the Lord first and I just want them to finally be able to be together in the same country!

Lance and I were able to go see my FAVORITE artist in a private concert that will air as a PBS special the day after Thanksgiving.  It was such an incredible night!  Andrea Bocelli is so gifted it's truly amazing to listen to.  That God loves music is so obvious when you hear him, and that He has blessed this man with a heavenly voice even though he has had such struggles with being blind... it's so beautiful.  And he is such a humble man who even with THAT voice asks if he is doing ok and wants to bring joy to others so much.  It was so great to be there while they were filming it because you got to see "behind the scenes" and see what a humble man he is.  I highly recommend going out and getting any of his albums, but especially this new one called "Cinema" that the PBS special was filmed for.

It's been over a year since I started journaling in my bible and I think it's been my favorite art form to date!  It's an incredible way to draw closer to His word and brings us deeper in our own spiritual walk.  I've had a lot of people ask me about Bible Journaling and I even incorporated it into my 1st Art & Faith Creative Retreat this past July.  (and it will be a BIG part of my next Art & Faith Creative Retreat in Italy next September 10 - 17, 2016)

So I thought I would offer a class for those who are interested in learning more!  I will be teaching two of the pages above as well as talking about the book "Writing in the Margins" with the group.  If you live in the local So. Cal area and would like to take this class, it will be October 10th.  You can message me if you are interested in joining us!

It's been a busy month... but not for this kid.  Sophie just chills on the sofa thinking she's the queen of the house.  Wouldn't that be nice...

Well, I hope to be on here more often now that life has slowed down a bit!

If your still thinking about joining us next year in Italy, there are still some spots open for both Creative Retreats in June and September of 2016.  You can find out all the details under the SIGN UP button above.  We'd love to have you join us and I know you will be blessed by the teachers and what we will be doing next year during our weeks together in gorgeous Lake Como, Italy!

Hugs to all,
