"Things-to-know" about this club: Update 1/30/09
I have been thinking about how to make this the best club possible for everyone! It's been so much fun for me to start this Kit Club and I've enjoyed "meeting" every one of you through this new adventure!! I also know that in these economic times, it's been a struggle for some of you to stay in a Kit Club and I would NEVER want to make someone feel like they HAD to continue because they made a commitment to stay in. Therefore, after much deliberation I've decided to make this Kit Club a:
NON-COMMITMENT CLUB
There will no longer be any commitments that you need to make to be in this Kit Club! You can buy WHEN YOU LIKE and skip WHEN YOU LIKE. You can buy as many or as little as you like as always but I just didn't want people to feel like they HAD to buy...
Now, with that comes some other changes. Because there are no "Members" and "Non-members" there will only be one price for each kit. This will make it sooo much easier for me when I'm putting the kits up for sale and I don't have to figure out the drop-down menu's and price differences. I understand some people want to get a "deal" as a "memeber" but I hope you feel like my kits are packed so full that you are getting a GREAT price! I also try my hardest to find unique items to put in the kits that you wouldn't find in your LSS and lots of vintage inspired or real vintage pieces. This is a very fun process for me to go to flea markets, look online and shop around for special things for the kits that you're not going to find in other kits and hopefully why you find A Kiss on the Chic to be different from your typical scrapbooking kit club!
And that brings me to some good news, no so good news and GREAT news...
With the New Year upon us, it brings some changes in pricing. The US Postal Service has decided to raise their shipping rates! It's a big bummer and I know personally when I buy something online, the first thing I look at is how much the shipping is going to cost! It really makes me think twice before I buy and i'm sure a lot of you feel the same way! I've tried to make my costs as low as possible and actually I pay a lot of shipping out of my pocket to those on the East Coast since my standard shipping cost for one kit is $7.50. But, I've decided:
NOT TO RAISE ANY SHIPPING CHARGES!
I think that qualifies as GOOD NEWS RIGHT?
The "not so good news" though is that I need to raise the price of the kits. I really didn't want to do this until my first anniversary but I really struggled with how to make this work for ALL OF US! As you know, I enjoy this so much and hope and pray that I will be in this industry and share this passion with others until my last breath. But, it is a LOT of work, a lot of time and a lot of money to run a Kit Club. I am enjoying every minute of it and the work is not an issue for me other than trying to balance this "career" and my family. But, I have to make it work so I'm not just working to pay the bills for all the supplies. I LOVE to give people things and I love hearing that my kits are "packed full" and believe me, IT WILL STAY THAT WAY! But, in order for it to stay that way... I need to charge a little more. So, the Main kits will be $32.00 each. The add-on kits and "Uniquely Chic" kits will vary. This price change I know will make it hard for some of you to buy the kits and for that I am truly heartbroken. But in order for me to make this work, I really needed to raise the prices. I will be making sure each kit is still PACKED FULL each month and you are getting a GREAT KIT for the price!
AND, onto the GREAT NEWS!!!
I am going to have a promotion that I think you will love...
FOR EVERY SIX (6) MAIN KITS YOU BUY, YOU GET ONE (1) KIT FREE!
I think this will really help you balance the extra money for the monthly kits because you will offset that cost by a little over $5.00 each month if you get to your seventh kit for FREE! This will work for your Main Kits only and for those of you who buy more than one Main Kit a month, you'll even get there quicker! And when you reach that FREE kit, you can start all over again! It's not a one time deal...
NOW THAT IS GREAT NEWS RIGHT?
I also wanted to mention that I may not have 2 Main Kits each month. I'll be doing more "Project Kits" that will be a complete kit that will come with instructions and color pictures! I know a lot of you see my examples or those of my Design Team and want to make them but don't know how. Well, now we will have more examples that will be these "Project Kits" or "Uniquely Chic" kits! I'm keeping the "Add-on" kits but will have them be in the $10-15 range so they will be more afforadable. I will also have individual add-ons like the stamps, rub-ons or other small items that may work well with the kits like adhesives, etc... That way, those of you who don't have your LSS anymore can purchase these needed items from me and you don't have to pay multiple shipping charges from different on-line stores! I would even LOVE to hear from you on what "must have" items you would like to buy from me so you don't have to buy it online somewhere else and pay shipping charges again...
I hope that isn't too much information to swallow at once! I tried to cover everything but I'm sure I missed something... If you have ANY QUESTIONS about this new structure, please email me! I want you ALL to feel good about these changes and I want to help anyone who may need some clarification.
I also want you to know that I value each and everyone of my Kit Club Members! You don't need to feel like I'm getting rid of the MEMBERS!!! I will always feel like everyone who buys my kits is a "A Kiss on the Chic Member" and a friend! If you feel worried about possibly not getting a kit because they will sell out, please let me know. I will certainly set aside some kits for those who have that concern. I can easily do that and just enter a smaller stock amount on my Paypal set-up page.
Don't forget, each month I will be posting the designs we've come up with for each kit on the Kit Club Gallery! This way you will have a starting idea of what you could do with your kit! But, the fun starts here...
Oh, AND... Sometimes there will be a SURPRISE in the kit!!! It might be a NON-scrapbooking item that is just something I found in my many shopping trips or something sweet to enjoy while your scrapbooking. Whatever it is, it will be FUN!!!
